I overheard a conversation at dinner a couple of weeks ago, retelling the real “find” a friend purchased at Habitat for Humanity’s Builder’s Surplus Store in Pasadena. She had happily paid the $100 price for a new high end dishwasher for her home. Of course my ears perked up. I’m always looking for a great deal on quality items for my home. My flooring contractor, Pasadena Wood Floors, had taken some doors and other surplus materials from our own home remodel there last year. Then, at a movie theater later that weekend, an ad for the Pasadena store popped up in the previews for “There Will Be Blood” at the Santa Anita Mall. I just had to see for myself...
