New Opportunity!
Donate via
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs):
Congress recently changed the regulations (HR4) for charitable gifts made from individual retirement accounts (IRAs).  If you are over age 70 ½, the Federal government now allows you to rollover amounts from your IRA to San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity without claiming any increased income or paying any additional income tax.  These tax-free rollover gifts could be any amount up to $100,000 per year.  IRA charitable gifts will be allowed for 2006 and 2007 only and the gifts must be made from an IRA and not from any other type of retirement plan.

The IRA rollover gift is trouble-free way to donate to San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity.  Additionally, you may be able to increase your giving through an IRA rollover gift because you can give beyond the Federal cash contribution limit of 50%.

Please consider an IRA rollover gift to San Gabriel Valley Habitat to Humanity.  As in making any important financial decision, please check first with your qualified tax advisor to learn more about this IRA charitable tax benefit.

Cars for Houses:
Do you have an old car, truck, van or boat in your driveway? Did you purchase or do you plan to purchase a new car and don't know what to do with your current car? Did you know you can donate your used vehicle or boat to Habitat and receive a valuable tax deduction? Your donation will help fund the construction of new homes!

Even if your vehicle doesn't run or isn't registered, we can still use it. We provide free pickup and towing through Riteway Charity Services. Please call the office at (626) 792-3838 and give us the make and model information on your car, or use Riteway's online form for faster service -- remember to select San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity from the Charity pull-down menu on this form.

Fundraising Projects and Special Events:
We rely on fundraisers to bring in funds so we can continue our fight against sub-standard housing. We need volunteers to help plan and staff fundraisers and special events. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the office at (626) 792-3838 and be sure to see our Volunteers page. Also check our Latest News Archive for upcoming fundraisers and special events.

Donations and Sponsorship:
We welcome donations from individuals, faith groups, organizations, and companies concerned with the problem of sub-standard housing. Some organizations and companies sponsor a portion of a house or an entire house. If you are interested, refer to Components of a Habitat House, then contact the Executive Director at (626) 792-3838. We accept monetary donations, grants, and in-kind donations. All donations are tax deductible -- you will receive a receipt for your donation.

In-Kind Donations:
We depend on the generosity of individuals and companies to provide the materials and professional design and construction services to build homes for our partner families. All Habitat homes are sold to the partner families at no profit and no interest and the mortgage payments are used to build more homes. If building materials and professional services are donated, our funds can be stretched to complete more housing projects and give more families a "hand-up" in obtaining a house of their own.

All types of services and new construction materials are welcome. We especially need lumber, plumbing, electrical, siding, and roofing. If you or your company can donate services or material, please contact Sayaka Ota at (626) 792-3838.

Thank you!
