Kenwood Homes Dedication — June 5

Our eleven condominium-style houses at 711-717 North Kenwood Street in Glendale were dedicated on Saturday, June 5th.  It was truly a day of celebration as we presented the families with the keys to their new homes and recognized their hard work.  Over the last two-and-a-half years, each of the eleven future resident families put in over 500 hours of sweat equity — one family invested over 900 hours!

The completion of this build has officially advanced us past the important 50-home benchmark in the Habitat world, totaling our production of safe, decent and affordable houses to 54. We would not have been able to do this without the thousands of volunteers and the sacrifices they made to help build these homes, along with the generosity of donors and, of course, with the partnership of our extraordinary homebuyer families.

Betting on Habitat – Kentucky Derby Party

The San Gabriel Valley can “bet” on Habitat for Humanity to be continuously building homes for deserving and hard-working families. On May 1, hundreds of guests came to Santa Anita Race Track’s Club Court for fun, music, food, races and camaraderie The event featured a buffet lunch, visits from two retired jockeys, a handicapper, auction, a jazz band and live feeds from the Kentucky Derby and other races.

The event raised $14,000 to advance the cause and mission of San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity!

Sherman Homes Dedication

On Saturday, March 6, SGVHFH dedicated four homes on Sherman Avenue in Monrovia to four incredibly deserving and inspiring local families.  It was a day of fun and celebration as the house keys were presented to the families and each family was able to share their experience in building their home.
