Our Habitat

Our goal is to build continuously and to increase our capacity to build more homes each year!

San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity (SGV Habitat) for Humanity) is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Our affiliate was founded in 1990 and seeks to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action while eliminating poverty housing and homelessness from the San Gabriel Valley.

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people from all walks of life to create better, permanent shelter for lower-income families. To accomplish this, Habitat for Humanity builds and renovates houses, providing decent homes in decent communities where people can live and grow into all that God intended.

Our affiliate has built 39 homes and has 11 more currently under construction on Kenwood Street in Glendale. When these homes are complete, our affiliate will attain the important 50-home productivity benchmark and will be providing 205 men, women and children with safe, decent, affordable shelter.

SGV Habitat for Humanity involves the community by motivating it to volunteer time, talent, money, and donated materials to build affordable housing. In the process, we help to build stronger communities, better neighborhoods, stable families, and relationships that will last for years to come. All areas of society (individuals, houses of worship, businesses, and governmental agencies) get involved. SGV Habitat for Humanity is a catalyst for positive change in the San Gabriel Valley.

San Gabriel Valley affiliate tithes on the unrestricted contributions it receives. Our tithe is designated for Habitat homes in Cambodia.

Your contributions work for safe, decent housing both locally and globally!
