Carol has been involved with SGVHFH since 1999. She worked on the Family Committee, construction, volunteer orientation, public relations and event planning. She also served as Hospitality Chairman on the Pacific Avenue Project where her committee served over 1,200 volunteers on the construction site. Of this project Carol says, “I wouldn’t have missed the experience for the world. People from all walks of life volunteer to work on Habitat homes. They arrive with great enthusiasm to learn a new skill, to work with the new homeowners, to make a difference in their community. The experience is about community coming together rather than turning inward, it’s about individuals with common values working together, it’s about faith groups being drawn into action. It’s about the power of inspiration and life-giving hope to all of us.”

Carol and her family have lived in this area for more than 30 years. Both she and her husband have been active in local schools, AYSO soccer, Girl Scouts and all the fun activities of children. Habitat is another way of connecting to the community. She will continue to support Habitat’s great volunteers and the construction projects as she serves on the SGVHFH Board of Directors.
