Cindy Heydt began her nonprofit career working in Fund Development for hospitals. When she retired, Cindy, her husband, and family moved to the San Gabriel Valley. One of the first things she did after moving was to conduct a search for a place to make a difference in her new community.

Jan Robinson, Volunteer Coordinator for SGVH, returned Cindy’s call and invited her to help our affiliate with Fund Development. Cindy has been doing so ever since. In January 2006 she was elected to the Board of Directors, and in 2008 she chaired a phenomenally successful Gala to benefit San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity.

Cindy is often heard saying, “I love Habitat!” Here actions speak even louder than her words in demonstrating her commitment to affordable housing and the local work of San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity.
