Habitat International

Janelle Williams

Janelle Williams, principal of “Williams Land Use Services” first heard about Habitat for Humanity while attending an American Planning Association conference in Atlanta, Georgia in 1989. Millard Fuller, founder of Habitat for Humanity was the keynote speaker for the conference luncheon she attended. She knew then that Habitat would become an important part of her life. Shortly thereafter, she became involved with San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, serving on the Family Selection committee, and now serving on the Board of Directors to give Family Selection issues more Board attention. “Being personally involved with our partner families over the years has only deepened my loyalty to the organization and all it stands for. Children excel in school when they aren’t moving from place to place, and the parents become better providers, better citizens, and enthusiastic supporters of Habitat. Without fail, they all become volunteers in their communities. I see it time and again. It really is a partnership that works.”
