Places of Worship - Faith Builds

Habitat for Humanity was founded on the belief that we are all called by God to care for the poor and follow the examples of caring and compassion set out in Scripture.

The “Theology of the Hammer” is a term founder Millard Fuller used to explain the idea that we cannot just talk about our faith…we must put faith and love into action! Faith must be incarnated and acted out. The Theology of the Hammer is the realization that sufficient resources exist for solving the problem of poverty housing. It’s about acknowledging our differences while finding common ground in using a hammer.  Today people of all beliefs partner together to address the enormous need for affordable housing in the San Gabariel Valley.

The Circle of Faith includes representatives from various religious congregations. Our task is to promote the work of Habitat for Humanity within the religious community of our area. If you would like to know more information about how your congregation could be part of the Circle of Faith please contact: Pastor Rob Calderhead: (818) 472-5264 or Rob@lcumc.com
