San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity (SGVHFH) often works with volunteers who are required to complete a certain number of community service hours. The preferred location of community service hours is the construction site; the Volunteer Coordinator will make exceptions as needed to complete the hours at the Azusa ReStore or office ONLY.
To be eligible to use SGVHFH as a venue for completing community service, your sentence cannot involve a conviction of theft, assault or a sexual-related offense and it cannot involve a second-offense conviction of a violent nature. Submission of written confirmation of the required number of community service hours is required prior to the start of your service.
SGVHFH reserves the right to terminate any agreement for community service (court-ordered, for school or for work) if the participant is unproductive, fails to adhere to guidelines, is disruptive or in any other way negatively impacts the accomplishment of the organization’s mission.
For those volunteering per school or company requirement, please download the Community Service Volunteer Packet.
For volunteers required by court, please download the Court-Ordered Community Service Volunteer Packet.
Any questions or concerns should be directed to the Volunteer Coordinator, Amy Borton, at 626-387-6899 x17 or volunteernow@sgvhabitat.org.
